New event convenor makes first contact
Having been recently voted as Event Convenor (or similar title) at the last Committee meeting, Gemma Ryde's first action is to issue a rousing call to arms to the playing members of Watsonians rugby:
Different teams, one club.
With preseason training fully under way and the first friendlies starting over the next few weeks, rugby is back in force at Watsonians. There is no better time to greet back all players, especially those who are new to the teams this year.
Saturday the 8th of September marks the first of the home games with the 1st, 2nd, 3rd XVs and ladies team all playing at Myreside. This is our first opportunity for all teams to meet and introduce the new players to the club (and the bar). Although Watsonians Rugby is made up of various teams, it is still one club, so show your support by attending the after match drinks at the club house.
Get Involved
At present, players have very little input as to what happens at the club. We are looking to arrange a group of players who meet up every month or so after training to have a chat about what they and their team would like. This could be organising social events, fundraising for plasma TV’s and Sky at the club house or arranging 6 nations gallivants to Roma. Whatever you can come up with.
It would be great if at least one representative from each team was involved. If you are interested, email the club.
