Three leagues start this weekend and new appointments
Saturday 2 September will be the start of the league campaign for the 1st, 2ns and 3rd XV. All players should make an effort to come to training on Thursday.
The Ladies team will play a warm up game against Carlisle on Sunday 3 September in preparation for their league campaign which starts on 16 September.
Meanwhile, the members of the 4th XV, with their league starting on 8 September, are putting the finishing touches to their rigorous fitness regime. It has been reported that, as they increase their efforts, a shortage of beer and cigarettes is spreading through the capital city.
After a thorough selection process, the Coach/Manager for the Third XV has been appointed and should be announced in the coming days.
Another appointment has taken place within the club, Rod Hathway, who has been coaching the 4th VX for the past 2 seasons, has accepted the position of Director of Social Rugby for the 4th XV.
"I firmly believe that Rod is the best man for the job, I am ecstatic that the team's future is in such good hands." enthusiastically commented retired player Darren Love... or something along those lines.
