Fedo and Whyte join WFC
WFC are pleased to announce that Scotland Sevens cap Michael Fedo has joined the club ahead of the 2017/18 BT Premiership campaign along with prop Kyle Whyte.
Michael, the 27-year-old back row, was part of the famous Bell Baxter High School team that won the Scottish Schools Cup in 2007. That team included the likes of Pete Horne and Chris Fusaro as well as WFC players past and present Ross Aitken, Chris Martin and Rory Drummond.
He went on to play for Howe of Fife and Watsonians before becoming a core Scotland Sevens player on the World Series circuit for a number of years.
Since then he has had a stint playing in Australia before helping ‘Sonians win the Kings of the Sevens title in April and May.
Now he has re-joined the club ahead of the new XV-a-side campaign.
Kyle Whyte, the young prop who appeared a few times for Edinburgh Rugby and Watsonians last season on a ‘partnership contract’ before injury, will also be at Myreside.
He has previously featured for South African outfit Western Province at both under-19 and under-21 levels, before featuring for the first team seven times representing the club in the Currie Cup.
Head coach Steve Lawrie said: “It is great to get these guys on board as we keep building our squad for 2017/18.
“They are both players who are hungry to move forwards in their careers and that is exactly the type of player we want at Myreside.”
Everyone at WFC would like to welcome Michael and Kyle to Myreside.
