Four sevens sides were put out by WFC over the weekend.
On the Kings of the Sevens circuit Watsonians did not have the best two events in their bid to retain the trophy.
On Saturday at the Hawick Sevens - which the home club eventually won for the third time in a row - ‘Sonians were under strength as a result of the first XV playing at Melrose and lost to Edinburgh Accies in extra time during round one.
And on Sunday at Scremerston Watsonians had some big guns back, but lost in the last eight of the Berwick Sevens.
After sweeping aside Langholm in round one - with teenager Jamie Forbes scoring a hat-trick of tries - they squandered a 10-0 lead to lose 12-10 to Jed-Forest. Selkirk won the event.
On Saturday at Edinburgh Northern's annual event the Watsonians VII saw off Gumboots and the hosts to the reach the Cup stage.
Tries from Dennis Gleeson, Eddie Crawford, Ollie Curtis and Craig Findlater secured a 26-5 victory over the 'boots, whilst two from Joe Hickman and one from Andy Russell saw a 19-0 victory over Northern.
'Sonians narrowly missed out a place in the second Cup round following a narrow defeat against Lismore 24-17.
And finally, also on Saturday a Watsonians team played at the North Berwick Sevens.
The team were also helping to celebrate Euan Lyster's stag do and are pictured before things started going dowenhill.
