Watsonians first VII head to Gala and Earlston this weekend needing vital points in the Kings of the Sevens race.
The team, who of course won the title in 2008/9, lie 18 points behind leaders Kelso with only three events remaining. As a result it is extremely unlikely that they can regain the trophy, but a win at either of this weekend’s events would be good for the club after the second VII won at Penicuik Sevens last week.
On Saturday at Gala the team are due to face Peebles in the first round, whil 24 hours later they are up against Selkirk in their first tie.
The second VII, under coach James Robertson, head to Boroughmuir on Friday night and Musselburgh on Saturday looking to win their second and third (!) event in the Lothians in seven days.
