Watsonian Football Club are delighted to announce the appointment of Marcus Di Rollo as Head Coach for season 2010/2011.
Marcus, a product of George Watson’s College, was an Assistant Coach to Bruce Aitchison in 2009/10 and has helped with coaching the highly successful sevens team for the last few seasons. Following a distinguished professional career during which Marcus played for Edinburgh and Toulouse and gained 21 Scotland caps the 32-year-old retired from professional rugby in 2008. He is greatly looking forward to putting something back into Watsonians.
Assisting Marcus will be Andy Barnett who will be responsible for forwards coaching along with strength, conditioning, speed and agility coaching.
Andy will combine these duties with his role coaching the highly successful George Watson’s College first XV which he has performed over the last four or five years.
Further Assistant Coaches will be added to the team to help in specialist areas and they will be announced in due course.
The second XV will continue to be coached by James “Cakes” Robertson and it is hoped a Co-Coach will be named soon.
The very experienced Johnny Sandlan, who has recently been coaching the club’s ladies side, will take up the reigns as third XV Head Coach.
